It is estimated that over 99.7% of humans experience at least one parasitic infection in their lifetime. There are different species of intestinal parasites. The most feared of all is the tapeworm, also known as the solitary worm.
These organisms can live for a very long time, infesting the intestines without causing any significant symptoms. Nevertheless, the most common symptoms are as follows:
- diarrhea
- fever
- abdominal pain
- digestive disorders
- bloating
- burping
- nausea
- vomiting
- anal itching
- colitis.
There are countless chemical active ingredients on the market to eliminate parasites, but the side effects outweigh the benefits (as with any other medication).
