Does it make sense to invest in land even without having anything to do with agriculture or livestock?

This is Bill Gates, and you all know him as the billionaire founder of Microsoft, yet for some time now in America, he’s known as “farmer Bill” because in recent years, he has come to own a whopping 275,000 acres of land in the United States, which is roughly equivalent to 111,375 hectares, almost 160,000 soccer fields just to give you a sense of scale.

And if that seems like an absurd amount of land for someone who has little or nothing to do with agriculture, know that in the ranking of Americans who own the most land, Bill Gates is only in forty-second place. Jeff Bezos, who is in twenty-fifth place, owns 420,000 acres.

What do billionaires do with so much land? Can us mere mortals also invest in land without knowing anything about plants and livestock, and if so, is it a good investment?

Today we will answer all these questions, we will give a brief overview of lands to understand what they are and what they are used for, and how it is possible to invest in them. We will analyze the pros and cons of these investments and then draw conclusions as objectively as possible.
